Jan Koszyk immigrated from Poland and built Leaders Roofing from the ground up starting in 1996 — with a simple idea: do good work, treat people fairly, and the rest takes care of itself. That principle still guides the company today. Our crews are local, we hold an Illinois Roofing Unlimited License (#104.010248) — one of the older numbers on the books — and our reputation is built one roof at a time.
Reputation, in this business, isn't built through marketing. It's built through accountability. Over 30 years we've worked on everything from single-family bungalows to large-scale commercial flat roofs across Cook, DuPage, and Lake Counties. Residential or commercial — every project gets the same attention to detail.

How We Work
Roofing isn't complicated, but it has to be done right. Cutting corners on underlayment, ventilation, or flashing means you'll be calling someone back in three years. We don't operate that way. The roofs we install in 2026 should still be performing in 2046.
Every project starts with a thorough roof inspection — we document everything with photos and give you a straight answer about what your roof actually needs, whether that's a repair or a full replacement. No upselling. No pressure. We tell you what we'd do if it were our own house.
We handle the full scope: roof replacements, repairs, storm and hail damage, gutters and siding, commercial roofing, and more. One contractor, one point of contact, from permit to final inspection.
Who We Serve
We work with homeowners, property managers, business owners, HOAs, and institutional clients. Tom Engoren has trusted us with two commercial buildings and a cedar shake residence in River Forest for 16 years. Joe Minogue relies on us for property management across multiple sites. We've partnered with masonry and general contractors who need a roofing crew they can count on to show up and get it done.
Our service area covers 70+ communities in the Chicago suburbs — from Waukegan and Gurnee in Lake County down through the northwest suburbs of Cook County, and across DuPage County into Naperville and Wheaton. If you're in Chicagoland, we're your roofer.
